On January 29, 2021, Dr. Zhou Xiaofeng, Executive Dean of Chimelong Water Treatment Research Institute, cooperated with Tsinghua University, KAUST, Nanyang Technological University, North Carolina State University, Shenzhen University and other units to publish in the world's top journal Nature. Nature Communications (Nat. Commun., 2021, December, 709, DOI: 10.1038/s41467-021-20951-9) published the latest research and development results of electrolysis of water to produce hydrogen.
The research and development used a one-step CVD method to successfully prepare a high-purity single-layer 1T-WS2 hydrogen evolution reaction catalyst supporting a vanadium single-atom catalyst. This material shows very good performance in the electrolysis of water to produce hydrogen (low Tafel slope 61mV/dec And the TOF is as high as 3.01 S-1 under 100 mV overpotential), which is expected to provide new ideas in the design of high-performance and stable electrocatalysts.
Dr. Zhou Xiaofeng is the joint first author, and Chimelong Science and Technology works with Tsinghua University and KAUST as the joint first unit.
